Natural kantha blanket cotton large

This natural kantha blanket has a fresh and natural look and suits light interiors. The blanket is made from unbleached cotton with subtle kantha embroidery. Kantha embroidery is a traditional Bengal running stitch, read more here.

Unbleached cotton is naturally cream or ivory in colour. We have two variations in the colour of the stitching. Blue cross stitches arounds the borders and three different shades of blue for the running stitches all over the blanket, or red cross stitches around the borders and red, green and yellow straight running stitches.

This natural kantha blanket is made from new, unbleached cotton. Not from recycled saris as some of our other kantha blankets.

These kantha blankets are made in Bangladesh, by an organisation in the capital Dhaka. They create a safe place where women and girls who have been in forced prostitution can work. They are paid fairly, work under good circumstances and receive training and daycare for their children.
