This kantha scarf is embroidered with triangles in red en pink hues. This type of Bengali embroidery with a running stitch is called kantha.
The scarf is made from handspun and handwoven cotton with a 120 thread count. This fine and soft cotton is unbleached.

The kantha scarf is made in Bengal, India. Kantha is still a traditional craft there that many women master. We cooperate with an organisation that brings tradition and modern design together. By doing so they create work for women in rural areas. This way the artisans are given the opportunity to provide for themselves and their families in a dignified and fair way.

Tulsi Crafts schafft Arbeitsplätze in ländlichen Regionen und bei der Herstellung ihrer Produkte arbeiten sie mit einer Reihe von Herstellern zusammen, die WFTO Fairtrade-zertifiziert sind. Die Marke bietet eine große Kollektionen mit Produkten, die allesamt einzigartig und nachhaltig sind. Decken und Schals aus alten Saris, die sonst weggeworfen würden und eine Taschenkollektion aus recycelten Zementsäcken ist nur der Anfang.
