Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth, eco-friendly and unique, meant to be used over and over. We've added an Indian twist, and use upcycled sari cloth to make our gorgeous reversible wraps!

Our popular handmade sari gift wrap set consists of 3 different reusable sari gift wrapping cloths of the same size (SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE or EXTRA LARGE - choose the size you'd like from the drop-down menu; dimensions below), each one ethically handmade by an empowered woman artisan in India. The makers earn fair wages for making these cloths, so your purchase directly impacts the lives of disadvantaged women!

These eco-friendly alternatives to paper gift wrap are handmade using repurposed saris. They can be re-used over and over, and they are brilliant for wrapping just about everything, including odd-shaped gifts (balls, wine bottles, anything!). The best bit is they're good for the environment, made entirely of 100% recycled reclaimed sari fabric.

You will receive 3 different sari gift wrapping cloths in your chosen size with each bundle purchase. Each cloth is made from 2 different saris (one each side). Because every sari is unique, each cloth has its own story, which is why no two cloths are the same. Colours and patterns will vary, depending on the saris used. Some finished items have minor imperfections or markings, which makes them even more charming and distinctive.

Fair Trade: Shakti.ism ist ein soziales Unternehmen, das in Indien und Bangladesch tätig ist. Die Mitarbeiter erhalten einen fairen Lohn sowie zusätzliche Gesundheits- und Wellnessleistungen. Shakti.ism besucht regelmäßig die Standorte und berät sich mit ihren Mitarbeitern.

Umweltfreundlich: Die Artikel werden aus alten indischen Saris hergestellt, die von Shakti.ism ein zweites Leben erhalten. Zum Beispiel werden viele Saris gespendet. Lokale Spenden kommen in der Regel von ärmeren Menschen, die Saris im Austausch für andere Lebensbedürfnisse spenden. Oder sie verkaufen es zu einem niedrigen Preis an Shakti.ism, damit sie mit diesem Geld Grundnahrungsmittel kaufen können. Shakti.ism kann dann verhindern, dass der gebrauchte Stoff weggeworfen wird. Saris können auch in Europa gespendet werden, damit sie wiederverwendet werden können.

Guter Zweck: Shakti.ism arbeitet mit Frauen zusammen, bei denen das Risiko besteht, von geschlechtsspezifischer Gewalt betroffen zu sein. Bei Shaktiism erhalten diese Frauen die Möglichkeit, in einer angenehmen Umgebung ihr eigenes Geld fair zu verdienen.
