Das Label Treasures Design entstand aus dem Wunsch heraus, schöne Kleidung und Accessoires anzubieten, die unter fairen Arbeitsbedingungen hergestellt werden. Die Artikel werden in Bali, Indonesien handgefertigt. Die Handwerker, mit denen Treasures Design zusammenarbeitet, haben die Möglichkeit, mit Treasures mitzuwachsen. Jeder Hersteller erhält ein Gehalt, das die monatlichen Kosten abdeckt, und er erhält auch Zulagen für medizinische Kosten und Ausbildungskosten. Ein Kauf bei Treasures unterstützt somit balinesische Handwerker und ihre Familien und bewahrt gleichzeitig traditionelle Handwerkstechniken.

Das Team besucht die Handwerker ein- oder zweimal im Jahr, steht aber täglich mit ihnen in Kontakt. Das Leder stammt von einem anerkannten Lederlieferanten in Bali. Die Häute stammen aus derselben Fabrik in Java und diese Fabrik wird mehrmals im Jahr von ihrem Partner in Bali besucht. Je nach Veredelung wird sowohl pflanzlich als auch chemisch gegerbt, wobei pflanzliche Gerbung bevorzugt wird. Treasures Design hat sich bewusst für die Arbeit mit Leder entschieden, da Leder im Gegensatz zu synthetischem Material im Laufe der Zeit nicht zerfällt, sondern mit den Jahren schöner wird. Es stellt sicher, dass das Zubehör lange hält und nicht als Einwegprodukt endet.
