This bag is made of leather made from cactus leaves.

Even overseas we found ‘green trash’. We discovered Mexico’s best kept secret ever! Years ago, 2 Mexican guys came up with the idea of using the Nopal cactus as raw material for the development of a sustainable alternative for animal and synthetic leather.

Nopal doesn’t need any water to grow. And there are plenty of these plants throughout Mexico. Nopal is used for the treatment of diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity and hangovers, but also as a food. The leafs of this plant have always been thrown away, but now they are used to make cactus leather. Produced without the intensive use of water and without any toxic chemicals, phthalates or PVC.

Die Trashious-Geschichte beginnt mit einem Mülleimer. Nicht der beste Start für ein Modelabel würde man meinen... Im Gegenteil! Der globale Müllberg ist ein riesiges Problem, dessen sich das Label nur allzu bewusst ist - deshalb haben sie sich der Zero-Waste-Bewegung angeschlossen. Sie haben die Suche nach einer nachhaltigen, tierfreundlichen und zirkulären Alternative zum derzeitigen Tier- und Kunstleder begonnen. Sie fanden „grüne“ Abfälle wie Äpfel, Kakteen und Ananas, die dafür geeignet waren!

Fairer Handel: Die Taschen werden in Bulgarien hergestellt. Jedes Jahr wird diese Fabrik von einem externen Dritten auf die Konditionen und Finanzen überprüft. Trashious hat auch den Standort selbst besucht und kann bestätigen, dass hier fair produziert wird.

Umweltfreundlich: Die Taschen werden aus einer veganen plastikfreien Alternative zu Leder hergestellt. Aus innovativen Biomaterialien wie Piñatex (Ananasleder), Apfelleder, Weinleder, Kaktusleder, Vegea und Desserto.

Lokal produziert: Die Artikel werden in Bulgarien, innerhalb Europas, hergestellt.

Vegan: Die Artikel sind komplett vegan.

Guter Zweck: Trashious unterstützt die Organisation 'Free A Girl'.
